Goodtime Slater, who was bred by Ian and Judi Slater, posted his 15th success and took his stake earnings over the $70,000 mark when he outsprinted his opposition at Menangle on Saturday night (January 13).

Starting from the No 8 gate, the eight-year-old was caught facing the breeze early before settling in the one-wide line.

Tipped four deep on straightening, Goodtime Slater led down beautifully to claim the leaders in the final few strides.

He rated 1:58.8 over 2300 metres with the last 800 in a slick 56.5.

Goodtime Slater is the third foal and fourth winner of Lifes Just Magic, an unraced Life Sign mare.
