Talented Artesian mare Hexham Heartbeat scored a convincing win at her first start since a let-up at Ballarat on Wednesday night (September 17).

Starting from the No. 6 gate, the five-year-old was trapped three wide before working up to lead the outside division in the middle stages.

From there she was able to control the tempo and allowed more rein in the back straight, Hexham Heartbeat surged to the front and careered away from her rivals.

The mile rate for the 2200 metres was 1:59.5.

A former Vicbred champion, Hexham Heartbeat has now won five races and almost $95,000 in stakes.
