Smart Tiz A Masterpiece three-year-old Exterminate, who won twice as a two-year-old last season, broke through for his first win this season at Newcastle on Thursday (January 29).
After settling down worse than midfield, the brown gelding was angled four deep on the home turn and surged to the front half-way down the straight.
He scored by 2.9 metres.
The time for the flying mile was 1:57.9 including a 59 seconds last half.
Exterminate is out of a winning Golden Greek mare, Nora Barnacle.
