The Restrepo four-year-old Urgoodboy notched his maiden success at Horsham on Monday (February 1).
Starting from the back row, the gelding settled down at the rear before being eased three-wide at the 600 metre mark.
After joining the leader on the home turn, Urgoodboy quickly gained the upper hand and scored by 3.8 metres.
The mile rate was 2:01.9 for 1700 metres with the last 400 in 28.3.
Bred, owned, trained and driven by Andrew Clarke, the gelding is out of the Group winner Lucy’s Pride 1:58.9 ($102,452) and is her first foal.
Restrepo has sired three winners from six starters from his first crop of nine foals.
